A Skiing Birthday and Polka Dots Galore!

This cake is for a sweet little girl who loves skiing! It was a chocolate cake with chocolate
buttercream filling. Happy Birthday, Ryann!
#girlskiingcake
These two cakes were for my dear client's husband's 40th and her dad's birthday.
She is such a dear person. The skiing birthday cake for Ryann was her order also.
Knowing that I had a lot on my plate, she requested easier cakes for her husband and her dad
since they were all due the same week. So the 40th cake is also Chocolate with Chocolate
buttercream. The cake for "Pop" is Spice with Almond buttercream. YUM!

Hello Kitty and Heirlooms

This is a Hello Kitty cake that had mustaches all along
the side and she had a mustache. The young lady likes Hello Kitty and mustaches are such a trend now that her sweet aunt thought that this
would be a fun way to incorporate both! I think it turned out cute.

This is an "Heirloom" Baby Shower Cake. I just met the young mother-to-be. She told me that they were celebrating her mom's 50th and the baby.
They decided to do an "Heirloom" baby shower. The items given to
the baby would be something that he would one day pass down to his
kids. This was a fun cake because it was for a new customer and I had
the priviledge of meeting her parents; they were all so sweet I just thought,
"What a joy to meet such wonderful people!" I love that cake decorating has
afforded me that opportunity!

A Not-So-Frilly Sweet 16 Cake

My Darling Daughter is not your typical, frilly 16 year old. This year, for her birthday, she wanted a WWE wrestling ring birthday cake. Here you go, sweetheart! The top layer is chocolate peanut butter with peanut butter/peanut butter cup filling. The bottom layer is white almond sour cream with raspberry filling. MMMM, good!

Cake Pop Practice Cake

I love a challenge. Recently, a family member asked me if I would make a Cake Pop cake for her wedding. Having never made one, I told her I would have to practice. I love practicing because it broadens my horizons and gives me the chance to try new cake flavors, which my family loves! This time I made a Chocolate Peanut Butter cake. It is delicious. Very moist. It made really great tasting cake pops.

I tried two techniques. I "glued" the cake pops on the cake with buttercream and I tried sticking them in with the lollipop sticks. Both worked. I was also thinking I might try sticking them on with corn syrup. I'll do that next time. I really need to work on making the balls a consistent size, but, other than that, it worked! Yay!

Birthday cakes!

This cake was for my friend's husband who is the Den leader of their son's Boy Scout troop. I wrote the Boy Scout pledge all around the sides of the cake.
This cake was supposed to be Duck Dynasty themed. I couldn't figure out how to make those Duck Dynasty guys out of frosting. So, I made a duck hunter and then wrote quotes from Duck Dynasty on the sides.

The above cake is my second fully, fondant cake. It has black diamonds and blue flowers  connecting them.

This cake is a Green Bay Packers cake for  a Packers enthusiast.

A Royal Wedding...Well, Almost

This cake is my first LARGE wedding cake. It is very special to me as it was lovingly made for a wonderful young woman and her new husband. Kristie Neeser, now Watkins, was in youth group when my husband and I lead the youth group. She also babysat our children. She is now an accomplished young woman who married quite a hilarious young man. It was a beautiful wedding; an inspiration. I felt that the parents on both sides were blessed to have their children marrying such wonderful people.

The consultation for the cake happened entirely via email as the bride and groom reside in London, England. It was quite fun!

The second and bottom tier were White Almond Sour Cream with Strawberry buttercream filling. The top and third tier down were Chocolate Rum with Chocolate rum and fresh pineapple filling. That was the most delicious cake I have ever made! AMAZING!
