Baby Bump

I have always wanted to do a Baby Bump cake.
Someone finally asked me to and I have to admit,
it was a very fun cake to decorate!

The tummy is a marble cake with
cookies and cream filling and
 the "chest" is funfetti!

Dalek Cake

This is a Dalek from Dr. Who.

I love it when I get asked to try a
technique I haven't tried before.
I love the way the sides of this cake
turned out. I don't know what this
technique is called, but I call it "super fun"!
The cake flavor is chocolate with
cookies-n-cream filling.

An attempt at "Gormet" Cupcakes

A friend of mine gets the "cupcake of the month"
delivered to her at work. The cupcakes are always
so amazing and I realized that I really need to step up my game.
These are Salted Caramel Chocolate cupcakes. They
are chocolate cake, with caramel inserted then a
dark chocolate buttercream with a drizzle of
caramel and pink Himalayan sea salt on top.
They were delicious, if I do say so myself. However,
you definitely need at least one glass of milk per cupcake!

Birthdays and a Graduation cake

The above cake traveled to Twin Falls, Idaho
for the graduation celebration of my friend's son,
Avery! Congrats, Avery! This cake was chocolate
with cookies n cream filling.
The Chevy cake was for my neighbor's grandson,
Dillon. I remember the day Dillon was born and now
he's 16! That is ridiculous! This was a yellow cake
with cookies n cream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting.
This springtime-y cake was to celebrate the
birthday of a beloved teacher. The student's mom
really wanted to show this teacher how much she was appreciated.
This was a strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream filling.
Happy Birthday, Mrs. Nichols!

Hippie Van Graduation Cake

This girl. She is full of life and laughter. I have
known her since she was 6 months old, and here she is,
graduating! Congratulations, Hayley!
This cake was so much fun to make. Yet another cake
that I said "yes" to, not knowing if I was really capable of
creating it! It was also my first vegan cake. The response
on the flavor and taste..."It tasted GREAT!" I am one happy camper.

Angel Dog Cake

I made this cake for a customer who told me that her
daughter wanted her birthday cake to be an
Angel Dogs cake in memory of their dog, Jerry,
who passed away a few months ago.
I had never heard of Angel Dogs before, so I looked it up,
and they sure and cute! I made the heads and bodies of
the dog out of crumbled cake with buttercream
frosting mixed in and then I covered and made the
rest of the dogs with fondant.
Amyah loved her cake! I love making cakes because
they make people happy!

T-Shirt and Chanel Cake

This week, I made a very suave Chanel cake for a customer's
daughter's 18th birthday.  This cake was a white cake with
strawberry buttercream filling.

This T-Shirt cake, I made for a customer who always
puts a lot of thought into her cake choices. This cake is for
her dad who turned 70. He loves getting a good bargain.
This is his favorite brand of t-shirt, Life Is Good, and he got
a killer deal on it as you can see from the picture below!

Cityscape cake for "Finnzilla"

I was asked to make a cityscape cake for a very special
first birthday for Finn. Finn is a very busy one year old and he has
earned the nickname "Finnzilla". With this in mind, his mom
thought it would be fun to have a photo session with him
dressed as Finnzilla tearing apart a city cake. She trusted me
to make the cake for this very special occasion.

Finn's mom showed me a picture of the cake she had in mind.
As is always the case with pictures, the actual cake never looks
exactly the same because of different technique, the level of
the artist's ability and difference in mediums. I am very thankful
that Finn's mom was gracious and appreciated my vision for Finn's cake
