So, I started a new job at the Bannock County
Treasurers Office. This week we are stuffing 25,000-
30,000 tax notices. So, I thought that I would make a cake to
thank the volunteers who came to help us.

This cake really challenged me mentally.
My friend, who asked me to make this for her dad,
believed in me all along. I, however, doubted myself.
It is so good to be on this side of doubt, to see that
I am capable of being stretched out of my comfort zone
 and accomplishing something like this.
Happy Retirement, Don. And, Kristen, thank you
for believing in me!

Hello Kitty and Monsters Inc.

Every year, my  husband wants a Star Wars
themed cake. He doesn't care what is on it,
as long as it has something to do with Star Wars.
Well...this summer we all got tattoos and this
Hello Kitty Boba Fett was the tattoo I wanted him to get.
Instead, he got some other, more "manly" SW related
tattoo. So, I put the Hello Kitty Boba Fett on his
birthday cake and, he loves it!

This cake was for my frequent customer's daughter.
She wanted Sully from Monsters Inc. I also made
6 "Mike" cupcakes to place around Sully. I think
it turned out pretty darn cute!

Scrapbook Cake

This was a very fun cake to make.
It was for an incredibly sweet woman who had
just turned 60. I was blessed to meet her the week
before and the minute I met her, the cake came together
in my mind. She loves scrapbooking.
Her daughter threw her surprise party for her
and I was able to stay for the "SURPRISE!" and
to see her face when she saw the cake.
You can tell she is a very loved and loving lady.
Happy 60th Birthday, Carol!
This cake was spice with fluffy-smooth cream cheese buttercream filling.
All the pieces were edible with the exception of the binders
which had wire inside coffee stirrers and then were covered with fondant.

around. I hope that the family enjoyed Colt's
construction cake! This cake was White Almond Sour Cream
 with raspberry buttercream filling.

Yeee Haw! Dukes of Hazard cake

My neighbor and her grandson were out in their front yard late one night,
waiting for the International Space Station to go overhead when Ethan said,
"Grandma, do you think Kristi knows the General Lee?" Puzzled, my neighbor said,
"What do you mean?" "For my birthday cake!" Ethan said. How sweet!
Boy, do I know the General Lee! Growing up,The Dukes of Hazard was one of my
favorite TV shows. What a pleasure to make a "General Lee" cake for Ethan.

This cake was chocolate with Vanilla Oreo cookie buttercream filling. Yummm!

Cookies? What have I gotten myself into now?

Well, this is an all-new endeavor. A friend
of mine asked if I decorated cookies. Truth be told,
not until now! But, always ready to try something new,
I accepted the challenge. She asked if I would make them for
her friend who lives in Syracuse, NY. Her friend works for
Boxcar Press in customer relations, hence the boxcar and the
girl at the computer!

Cake Pops Galore

This was the wedding of my mother-in-law's niece.
The bride contacted me in January to see if I would make
200 cake pops for her wedding and sent me the picture of the
idea she had for a cake/cake pop stand. I was excited and nervous.
The most cake pops I had ever made at one time was around 50.
About a month ago, she asked me if I would be willing to make 300 instead!
I said I would. When it was all said and done, I made 322!

On the wedding day, my brother-in-law and nephew helped me assemble the
cake pop cake. When we were done assembling it, I walked around the
front of the table and screamed! I couldn't hold it in! It looked just as we
had hoped it would and everything worked out so well. Praise God!

So much fun. Honestly, it brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart!

Fiftieth Anniversary Cake

Happy 50th Anniversary,
Dan and Raedean!

I made these cakes for a friend who's in-laws were celebrating
their 50th. It was a "from scratch" carrot cake with cream cheese
buttercream frosting. Yum!

Birthday cake and Graduation cake

This cake was actually made for 5 birthdays! However, the
person whose birthday was on the day the cake was delivered
is the one whose name I put on top. The rest of the names are around
the sides. My friend, Lynette, had dropped by earlier in the day
and stayed to watch me decorate this cake. She had some good
ideas about the eyes, nose and mouth (which are the parts I
have the hardest time with). So I scrapped my original plan
and did what she suggested. I think it turned out much better than
it would have. Thanks, Lynette! And, Happy Birthday, Allie, Evie, Kelley,
Dillon, and Rachel!

This is a college graduation cake for my neighbor's daughter.
She is an amazing woman. A single mom, she has persevered
through 6 years of college and is now off to be a Special Ed
teacher. She found a cake on Pinterest and asked if I could recreate
it. Honestly, and I rarely give myself props, I think I did a much
better job than the original picture! This was  a very fun cake to make.

It was the first time I had made a book cake. I think it turned out
very nice. The bookmark is fondant.

A Skiing Birthday and Polka Dots Galore!

This cake is for a sweet little girl who loves skiing! It was a chocolate cake with chocolate
buttercream filling. Happy Birthday, Ryann!
#girlskiingcake
These two cakes were for my dear client's husband's 40th and her dad's birthday.
She is such a dear person. The skiing birthday cake for Ryann was her order also.
Knowing that I had a lot on my plate, she requested easier cakes for her husband and her dad
since they were all due the same week. So the 40th cake is also Chocolate with Chocolate
buttercream. The cake for "Pop" is Spice with Almond buttercream. YUM!

Hello Kitty and Heirlooms

This is a Hello Kitty cake that had mustaches all along
the side and she had a mustache. The young lady likes Hello Kitty and mustaches are such a trend now that her sweet aunt thought that this
would be a fun way to incorporate both! I think it turned out cute.
#HelloKittyCake #mustachecake

This is an "Heirloom" Baby Shower Cake. I just met the young mother-to-be. She told me that they were celebrating her mom's 50th and the baby.
They decided to do an "Heirloom" baby shower. The items given to
the baby would be something that he would one day pass down to his
kids. This was a fun cake because it was for a new customer and I had
the priviledge of meeting her parents; they were all so sweet I just thought,
"What a joy to meet such wonderful people!" I love that cake decorating has
afforded me that opportunity!
